I was inspired to birth work after spending cozy nights listening to my mother’s own vividly told birth stories. I was the last of 4 children and according to my mother, “the easiest birth and happiest newborn,” and whose obstetrician barely caught when my 6 lb 9 oz body “came flying out!” My mom gleamed with love and pride when she shared her stories, saying, “You’ll never fully understand what love is until you have your own.”

It wasn’t until I birthed my first child, that it clicked. Merrick’s birth was a planned home birth-transport in 2011. In that hospital room along with a Midwife-turned-doula, Nurse Midwife, and husband, I birthed my 7 lb 4 oz boy and with it a new definition of love –unconditional and beyond comprehension.

I went on to graduate from a basic midwifery course with the Massachusetts Midwives Alliance and complete an in person doula training and became certified with toLabor (formerly ALACE)and Madriella. I trained as a Lactation Counselor with Healthy Children’s Center for Breastfeeding and certified as a Lactation Counselor with TALPP.

I most recently completed the Evidence Based Birth (R) Instructor program and continue to enhance my knowledge with various workshops and continuous research.

In 2013, My husband, Brendon, and I were blessed with our second child; 7 lb 14 oz daughter, Everleigh – achieving the beautiful home water birth we always wished for.

When I’m not spending time with birthing families, I’m deeply involved in my own, both at home and with my extended family at Greenville Baptist Church where I participate in music ministry and children’s studies.
