Breastfeeding

New mom. New baby. New experiences. Learning proper latch techniques is vital to the basis of your breastfeeding process. Babies may face some challenges in learning how to breastfeed soon after being born. We’ve taken care of so many mothers through challenges like sore nipples and fussiness. Get our expert doulas’ guidance when you need it, where you need it, and become an expert on your baby’s breastfeeding habits!

With proper education on breastfeeding, a new mother can address her baby’s lack of weight gain, painful latching, exhaustion, and fear they are not producing enough milk. We can assess a nursing session, provided before and after feeding weights, to ensure proper transfer, assistance with latch, a plan of care, and any necessary follow-ups. Lactation sessions are usually reimbursable by insurance companies. Most women give up breastfeeding within the first 2 weeks because they lacked proper support. That’s where we come in. We make sure that the mothers we help are able to support their babies through many changes and growth spurts.

Many mothers we’ve helped say that one of the greatest advantages to breastfeeding is having a convenient, built-in ability to calm their babies. Breastfeeding is the best way to immediately soothe babies who may be overwhelmed by the world around them. Properly breastfed babies also have stronger bones, fewer ear infections, fewer incidences of pneumonia, lower risk of asthma, lower risk of SIDS, and lower risk of cancer.
